In Louvre of French Capital Pairs, there is the collection of Napoleon’s treasured sword, the large quadrate diamond embedded on it is the famous the Regent Diamond. The diamond, which was140.5 carat, was carved from the crystal, which was 410 carat. The whole designation and procession took 2 years, the cost was 25.000 USD. Its owner at that time was the British governor-general to India. After the diamond was sent back to Britain and processed, it was named Pitt Diamond. Later, it was sold by the governor-general to the France ruler Louis Philippe, naming The Regent Diamond. After a turn over, it fell on the hand of powerful Napoleon. He cherished the diamond very much, so he ordered to embed it onto the hilt which carried with himself. In 1887, the French government once sold a batch of loyal family goods by auctions, among them, the Regent Diamond was pricing 6 million francs, but it was sold out. After that, it was turnover several times, finally it got to the Louvre and enjoyed by us.
