Pearl is very delicate; there are many techniques for the cleanliness and maintenance.

5. The Maintenance of the Chain
Don’t hang the chain for a long time, as it will distort. It is a not bad idea to tie a knot between every pearl on the chain. This method can prevent the pearls from rubbing each other. Even though the chain broke, the pearls won’t drop away in all directions, you would lose a pearl at the most.
6. Change the Chain for Every 3 Years
It is better to string the pearls again for every 3 years; of course, it also depends on the times you have worn them. As the dirt penetrating into holes of pearls will cause abrasion, breaking the nylon thread, the load-carrying capability of the breaking position lies on the place closed to the buttons.
