It is said that emerald has been found in ancient Egypt for about 4,000 years. The earliest emerald in Colombia was found in 16th century by Incan. When the Spanish conquered the Inca King, they carried off a great deal of these precious emeralds from the Incan. To find the origin of those emeralds, they tortured the Incans, but the Incans didn’t tell them where the origin was, even to die. They had removed the trail of exploitation in the emerald origin before that, the thrive bush covered the trace of the entrance of the mine. It was very hard for the Spanish to discover the mine. Accidentally, the Spanish found the Muzo emerald mine of Columbia in 1555, after that, the mine had been exploited by the Spanish and private company, it didn’t go back to Columbia until 1886. It had produced the emerald until nowadays.
